Just begun with it
I just purchased the software yesterday. It was easy enough to use, however, I ran into a problem while
attempting to make a backup of a DVD. The error message said that the source disk had a bad sector
error while attempting to copy. However, I am suspicious because it was a new DVD. I did realize that the
size of the DVD exceeded my destination DVD and therefore it never would have copied anyway. My
suspicion is that the software "figured it out" but didn't have a proper response coded in (the source DVD
was a 7.2G and the destination was only 4.7G).
Just a thought.

Not bad but...
...if there is a way to copy a DVD when one only has a single optical drive without doing it in two steps I
haven't found it. I had to write an ISO file to disk, then generate another copy by selecting the previously
created image and specifying the optical drive as a source. It should be possible to have the program do
this automatically. Other than that, I have to assume it makes perfect copies (can't tell as I didn't buy it). UI
is OK, neither poor nor great, does the job. The feature to copy the main movie only is good; on the other
hand, I wish the display showed time to completion rather than elapsed time. As is, I'd be willing to spend
about $25 for this application, but no more than that. At twice the price, I'll look elsewhere first.

Will not copy TV recordings
I copied from a new DVD with no problem.
When I tried to copy from a TV recording the program doesn't work.
Is there a solution for this type of copying?

slow but easy
This application was much slower than Mac the Ripper, requiring nearly an hour (1GHz PPC) to rip 15 minutes of DVD video.
Though it is supposed to be able to deCSS more keys than Mac the Ripper, could not check that.
Interface was nice, very Mac OSX.
Did not check on the DVD shrinking capability.

Decent program, really only decent choice
Pros: It just works. It is about half the cost of the only other Mac alternative (Fast Copy DVD) and while Fast Copy DVD sucks on every level, this at least works on the barest level.
Cons: This program is lacking on all fronts. Its user interface is not really intuitive, there is no way to save any preferences. It does not auto-detect any DVDs and you must manually tell it where both the original and the blank are every time you make a copy. It cannot even tell if the blank DVD is a standard or dual layer, you must also tell it every time.
Price: Even at $50 it is overpriced. This is barely out of beta and with the lack of everything it is more of a $20-25 program than a $50 program.
Summary: It works fairly well but is short on features and needs work. The only reason you should buy it is because there are not really any other all in one alternatives. If you don't have to have an application that does it all use Mac The Ripper and a separate burning program. Hopefully they will continue to develop this or drop the price to something reasonable for what it currently is.
